Free media Opp: Get your story out

As enp-Ottawa, CISED is seeking local social enterprises to have an interview with AXIOM news. Axiom, through support from Economic and Social Development Canada (formerly HRSDC) is producing three social enterprise news stories for the news wires each week. If you want to be one of those stories, contact jonathan@cised.ca to be put in touch with the Axiom journalists. This is FREE exposure of your good work, and we need to have Ottawa social enterprises featured!

Repository of Goodness

There are some very innovative ideas taking root in Ottawa. The micro granting agencies Just Change, Awesome Ottawa, Soup Ottawa and (now) Tontine are featuring their grantees AND their applicants for the world to see. The goal of this public list is to encourage creators, help collaboration, and reduce duplication. This is all good news for social entrepreneurs.

CISED needs assessment survey

Ottawa’s SE sector is relatively young and has seen significant expansion in the past four years.  Eighteen SE’s or 45% of the respondents began operations in 2010 or later.  Almost 1/4 started in the last 2 years!  And only seven of the respondents existed prior to 2000.”

Thank you to all 43 organizations who participated in the needs assessment. Stay tuned to CISED’s website and twitter feed (@cisedottawa) as we release the report’s findings in the coming months.
